The strings are all in tune, E to E - The fingers of my left hand form the chord. With my right I pick a melody Of a song I hope won't be ignored. The lyric to the tune must be refined - Every part must fit its proper place. Like a precious stone it must be mined And polished, every facet, every face. Sometimes I must be in solitude - Other times I need a helping hand. What must I leave out and what include - It's a process I still don't understand. To labor is to work day after day - When I go to work, I play.
